About the Application . . .

Based on the keenness of the Government of Saudi Arabia, may God bless it, to maintain the health and safety of its citizens and residents from the risk of Coronavirus spreading; The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has launched "Tabaud" application to support government efforts in tackling Coronavirus.

According to the health system and its implementing regulations (in Saudi Arabia), the Ministry of Health has approved health standards on which the "Tabaud" application has been developed. The characteristics and functions of this application will be subject to any additional instructions issued in implementation of the regulations and provisions of Saudi Arabia, in order to achieve the health and safety goals envisaged in developing the application by involving individuals to control Coronavirus outbreak, and limit its spread, in order to gradually reduce the restrictions imposed on social life and other activities.

The "Tabaud" application is a way to notify those who are in contact with people infected with coronavirus, so individuals can download and use "Tabaud" application to achieve the health and safety purposes of developing the application,

The application sends camouflaged identifiers data to the smart phones using the same application, which were registered during the contact with people infected with Coronavirus, accompanied by the data of the infected people devices, in accordance with the policies that the two international companies (Google and Apple) maintained, while maintaining the full privacy of users.

The application enables the user to receive direct and proactive notifications in case of any registered infected person has been detected, for the purpose of requesting direct health support from the Ministry of Health (in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

Application Advantages . . .

Once the application is downloaded into the smart phone, it can detect, via Bluetooth technology, other nearby smart phones that are also using the same application.

The application can know how close it is to other smart phones that are also using the same application. This allows it to get an idea of the closest smart phones, and thus notify their most vulnerable users through the application.

If the user of the application reports that he is infected with the coronavirus, and is confirmed by linking the application with the Ministry of Health, then users of all smart phones close to him during the 14-day period prior to the infection will receive a notification to take the necessary precautions for that.

Through the received notifications, users of the application will know that they may be near a person infected with coronavirus, in order to take the necessary precautions and to report on being in contact with a confirmed infected person using the application.

The application helps warn people who may be infected as a result of being in contact with other confirmed infected people.

Tabaud will help us contain the coronavirus (COVID-19) and return to our normal lives as soon as possible by notifying you if you have had contact with a person who has been confirmed to be infected during the past 14 days.

If you have had contact with a person infected with coronavirus, Tabaud will notify you on your smartphone, direct you to complete the required details, consisting of: ID number, phone number, date of birth, and health questionnaire, and send it to Ministry of Health for action.

Tabaud is available for everyone to cooperate on containing the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Tabaud is available for your smartphone via App Store and Google Play in Saudi Arabia, the UK, and the US.

When opening Tabaud for the first time, it will guide you to make sure the app is working properly by:
1. Allowing notifications
2. Allowing exposure notifications (within the app)
3. Turning on Bluetooth
Then, the app status can be viewed in the home page where the app status appears as (Active/Inactive).

Mostly, the app does not need internet since it works by Bluetooth, saving data on the device. However, it needs internet to receive updates and notifications, and to send information and health questionnaires.

Yes, Tabaud needs Bluetooth on to share your random IDs during the past 14 days to help determine who should be notified of having had contact with an infected person. Also, notifications should be on to immediately notify you if any person you had contact with during the past 14 days was confirmed infected.
